Izzi de Kock is a Liverpool-based drummer and singer-songwriter currently refining her craft at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). As the driving rhythmic force behind the post-punk/goth rock outfit The Nocturnal, Izzi has quickly become a standout figure in the city’s vibrant alternative circuit.
Known for her precision and high-energy performance style, Izzi balances her technical mastery of the kit with a deep-seated passion for songwriting. Her work with The Nocturnal blends the atmospheric, somber tones of goth rock with the raw, driving energy of post-punk. This unique sound is shaped by a collaborative approach to music-making, where Izzi’s contributions extend beyond the rhythm section into the very heart of the band's creative identity.

While her drumming provides the backbone for 'wall-of-sound' gothic arrangements, Izzy’s songwriting is fueled by a strikingly diverse palette. She draws from a lyrical spectrum that spans the poeticism of The Cure and Tom Waits to the narrative depth of Taylor Swift and Joan Baez, all while channeling the rebellious, DIY ethos of the riot grrrl and feminist punk movements.
